The number of employed persons rose by 0.5% and the unemployment rate (ILO) rose to 4.0% in the 2nd quarter 2024

Neuchâtel, 20.8.2024 - In the 2nd quarter of 2024, the number of people in employment in Switzerland rose by 0.5% compared with the same quarter of the previous year. During the same period, the unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organization (ILO) grew from 3.7% to 4.0% in Switzerland and remained at 5.9% in the European Union (EU). These are some of the findings of the Swiss Labour Force Survey conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
